Job Description:

This position is for a Senior Software Engineering Architect responsible for the design of application frameworks used in product development. This individual should have a team player attitude and the ability to easily multi task. They should also possess strong verbal and written communication, project management and organizational skills. Responsibilities: Design infrastructures to ensure consistency, quality, maintainability, and architectural integrity Review existing software architectures and identify areas for improvement in scalability, maintainability and performance Design software development infrastructure and interfaces to support distributed devices Understand how to use technology to meet business and product delivery goals Research and evaluate technology directions to enhance our product s strategic value to our customers Mentor the development team in the adoption and use of best practices and design methodologies Manage assigned tasks and schedules. Communicate technology direction to other departments and senior management Work closely with product management on new product opportunities and direction Required Experience/Skills: 10 years experience in software engineering Extensive experience in OO development methodologies Highly skilled in Java and OO design and XML (Working knowledge of C and C# desired) Experience with J2ME implementation on devices Extensive experience architecting, designing and leading the development of new products Experience with design patterns and distributed systems Strong networking skills Experience in communication protocol support (wired and wireless) in distributed architectures Knowledge of Web based technologies for security, state management, and scalability Ability to lead Senior Software Engineers in design and implementation Familiarity with agile development methodologies and test-driven, component-based iterative practices Strong technical background as a project lead and individual contributor Excellent written and oral communication skills High degree of self-motivation and flexibility Ability to effectively organize and prioritize multiple complex tasks Willingness to proactively interact creatively and achieve results in a dynamic engineering environment Ability to work in a team environment and meet project deadlines Education: BS in Computer Science. Master Degree a plus.
